Advanced Professional Study
Any School of Law courses may be attended on an audit basis without academic credit or for non-degree credit by lawyers who
do not wish to pursue a graduate degree but who desire to increase their knowledge in specialized or changing fields of law.
Application for the master of laws degree must be made on prescribed forms. Such forms, and further information may be obtained

Enrollment on an audit or non-degree-seeking basis for any semester may be completed by filling out the following form.
Registration is subject to space availability. Ordinarily non-lawyers and non-law students may not take law courses. If
they wish to do so, they must request permission in writing by attachment to the application explaining why they feel
qualified to take or audit such course(s). Permission to audit courses by non-attorneys must be requested in writing from
the Office of the Associate Dean, UMKC School of Law, 5100 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO 64110-2499 phone (816) 235-1644.
The request should specify the relevance of the course to career objectives and should be attached to this form. Enrollment
may not take place until permission is granted in writing.
Withdrawal from any course must be processed through the Law School Records Office.
Classes are held at the School of Law, located at 500 E. 52nd St., unless otherwise indicated.
