Professor Martin received his B.A. degree in 1981, majoring in Political
Economy at Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts, and his J.D. degree
from the University of Michigan Law School in 1984. Professor Martin served as
Research and Note Editor of the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform.
After graduation, he was admitted to the New York Bar and worked through
1996 at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in the fields of federal
regulation of banks and bank holding companies, international banking
regulation, and consumer affairs. In 1997, he was admitted to the Missouri
Bar and began work with the Missouri Department of Insurance, serving as
General Counsel from 1999 to 2004. He has also worked as Senior Public
Counsel for the Missouri Office of Public Counsel. Professor Martin is
currently licensed to practice in Missouri.
