Judith A. Sharp earned her Juris Doctor from UMKC, where she placed as alternate in the Moot Court competition and
served as Cases and Statutes Editor for the Urban Lawyer. She worked for two years as a staff attorney in the Municipal
Court Unit of Legal Aid of Western Missouri before establishing and maintaining a partnership with Maureen Scully.
They closed that practice when they began working for the UAW Legal Services Plan, a prepaid legal services plan provided
by the “big three" U.S. auto makers to their hourly workers. After serving as Supervising Attorney for several years, she
resigned to pursue an LL.M. in Taxation at UMKC, which she completed in May, 2000.
Judy has over 29 years experience practicing law, mostly as a litigator. Her experience includes several jury trials and
numerous bench-trials in the areas of domestic, criminal defense, consumer, and debtor defense. She also has a Masters of
Arts in American Studies from the Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
